MANU NATIONAL PARK I (7D/6N)

Manú National Park (Parque Nacional del Manu) is a biosphere reserve located in Madre de Dios and Paucartambo, Cusco. Before becoming an area protected by the Peruvian government, the Manú National Park was conserved thanks to its inaccessibility. The park remains fairly inaccessible by road to this day. In 1977, UNESCO recognised it as a Biosphere Reserve and in 1987, it was pronounced a World Heritage Site. It is the largest National Park in Peru, covering an area of 15,328 km².

DAY 01 CUSCO-CLOUD-FOREST LODGE PILCOPATA
Departure from Cusco at 6.00 pm in our comfortable bus. Ascending the mountain area of Paucartambo. On the way visit the funeral towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca. The buses then lowered through the mysterious cloud forest full of beautiful orchids, heliconia and primitive ferns. Stopping to give him a chance to witness Cock of the Rock (Rupicola Peruvian) mating ritual. There are also opportunities for bird watching Amazonian Umbrella (Cephalopteros ornatus), trogons (Trogon sp.) And many more. With a little luck, the only bear in South America, the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon we reached the Pilcopata village, where we stay in a typical hostel. DAY 02 PILCOPATA – MACAW CLAY LICK
After a delicious breakfast early, but will travel by bus more still at the port of Atalaya. The rest of the day is spent traveling the Rio Alto Madre de Dios. A long the way you can see a wide variety of birds such as herons, egrets, kingfisher, and the ever present vultures of which the most spectacular is the king vulture (Sarcoramphus papa). In the afternoon a brief stop in the village of Boca Manu to buy hand graft, ice beer and soft drinks. Then continue until blanquillo lodge. at night hike to explore some trails in the area. Overnight at Lodge. Showers and toilets available.

DAY 03 CLAY LICK MACAW – BOCA MANU LODGE
This day of our visit to the macaw clay lick activity is at 5:00 am to go to the hideout where you can appreciate the unparalleled beauty of this spectacular bird, observing this activity approximately 4 hours. After this activity we will visit the oxbow lake calling Cocha Blanco, here we will have to observe more wildlife especially type of birds that exist in all lake so hopefully we can see the giant other and black caiman (melanusuches Niger). After our lunch we go back to Boca Manu for the night spent in Boca Manu Lodge.

DAY 04 BOCA MANU LODGE – CASA MACHIGUENKA (reserved zone)
This day will leave early for the reserved zone on the Manu river, where we make our center control Limonal, after this day we will travel throughout the day observing our guides , as turtle species on various points, the black and white caiman species and several variety of species of birds such as cormorant, egrets, king Fisher and coming to the Casa Machiguenka which is managed by native Machiguenka, in the evening we will visit one of the ways to explore the flora and fauna of the as wildlife, species of monkeys, peccaries, white-lipped peccary and species of birds.

DAY 05 CASA MACHIGUENKA – SALVADOR AND OTORONGO LAKE
This morning we will wake up early for to visit the lake Cocha Salvador. Here paddling quietly in a catamaran, where you have the possibility to observe a family of giant otters fishing and playing, black caiman and several rare birds such as Hoatzins (Opisthocomus hoatzin), herons. Manu is one of the reservations about the animals have never had the pressure of the human. In the afternoon we returned to our camp. In the later we visit the bird observatory tower, from where we can view the wildlife that exists in this lake.

DAY 06 CASA MACHIGUENKA – BONANZA RESERVED ECOLOGICAL
This morning we will wake up to the tune of howler monkeys (Alouatta seniculus). After a delicious breakfast we continue our return to Boca Manu on this day we will have option of watching the activity of jaguar and more wildlife, island community of the valley to learn their habits and buy handicrafts. Then follow our return river upstream of the Alto Madre de Dios River, in the way we will see other species of birds. In the afternoon we arrive in the ecological reserve boom,

* Optional make our overnight camping in sandbanks on the Alto Madre de Dios River or use our lodge.

DAY 07 BONANZA RESERVED ECOLOGICAL- CUSCO
This morning after breakfast we return by boat to Atalaya, where the bus waits for us to return to the Cusco city, through the cloud forest. Arrival in the afternoon to Cusco. END OUR SERVICES.
