Itinerary

Day 1 Paracas – Ballestas Islands – Huacachina

The service begins with the pick-up from your accommodation in Lima, then you will be transferred to the end of the CRUZ DEL SUR bus heading to Paracas. In Paracas we will visit the Ballestas Islands. In Ica the pisco and wine cellar the Taster the Center of Ica the Oasis of Huacachina and the impressive dunes which we will travel in the buggies and doing the sandboarding.

03:15 a.m. Pick up from your hotel in Lima by a representative of Emotion Tour Peru and transfer to the CRUZ DEL SUR bus station

04:00 a.m. Exit Lima to Paracas in CRUZ DEL SUR BUS.

07:20 a.m. Arrival time in Paracas / A representative of our agency waits for you with your name on a sign, and then you will be transferred to the tourist pier and then start the tour to the Ballestas Islands.

08:00 a.m. Ballestas Islands & Candelabro Tour (2 hours tour by speedboat).

We will start the excursion leaving the port of Chaco Paracas where after a fifteen minute tour of the Paracas bay we will reach the chandelier.Here our guide will explain the different theories about this enigmatic figure, then fifteen more minutes we will arrive at the Ballestas islands where We will be able to appreciate rock formations and a great variety of marine species, sea lions, Humboldt penguins, chuitas, guanays, pelicans, oyster tendrils, thousands of guano birds, then we will arrive at the wolf maternity to finally return to port.

10:00 a.m. Return from the tour in Paracas and free time to have breakfast, shop at the crafts fair or walk along the boulevard.

11:00 am. Private mobility Paracas – Ica (approx 1 hour trip)

The private mobility will stay with you until the end of the day, to transfer you to all the points mentioned.

You will visit the artisan cellars of pisco and wines ‘El Catador’. Then leave for the center of Ica until reaching the Oasis of Huacachina.

16:30 hrs. Desert Tour with Buggy and Sandboarding

You will board a sand cart to climb the dunes that surround the Huacachina Oasis, we will cross a large part of the desert doing pirouettes through the mountains of sand, at the same time we will observe the capricious shapes in the dunes made by the winds, we will also make stops to take photos and in the upper parts to perform the sport known as sandboarding, our driver and guide will teach us safely how to do it, then we will return to Huacachina.

18:00 hrs. Return from the dunes tour

18:30 hrs. Transfer from Huacachina to the southern cross bus station in Ica.

19:00 hrs. Bus Ica – Lima

23:45 hrs. Arrival time in Lima / Reception and return to your Hotel

Huacachina is very popular with local people and international visitors and has a great atmosphere on the weekends. This in turn means that it is recommended to reserve accommodation in advance on weekends and holidays especially if you want a private room.

Is it possible to do the Huacachina Sandboarding the same day if I will leave for Paracas / Lima at 6.30pm?

If possible. The tour starts at 4:00 p.m. and lasts 2 hours, so you will be back around 6:00 p.m. If you are already registered on the bus, we will wait for you to return from the tour if there is any delay.

Is Huacachina Sandboarding safe?

Sandboarding is safe as long as you are responsible so take it easy, as every year there are accidents of people who go too fast. You will not win against a wall of sand

Are the buggies safe?

Yes, the buggies of our recommended operator are very safe. Their drivers will make sure you have a ton of fun, but they will never take any chances. All seats have a seat belt so they are well fastened. Not all operators have modern and safe sandboxes so it is important to be careful when booking tours.

Can I handle the buggiesmyself?

Buggies cannot be operated. All the drivers are certified, you cannot drive a sandbox through the dunes without a special certificate or permit. You will understand why once you do the tour!

I want to spend more time Sandboarding in Huacachina, can I rent boards per day?

Yes. For those who want to stay in Huacachina and hone their skills there are many places in town where they can rent boards for themselves by the hour, half day or full day.

I was late and missed the Huacachina Sandboarding tour. Can I change it for the next day?

Unfortunately if you are late and miss the sandboarding tour the operator will charge the full amount for the NO SHOW as your seat was reserved in the sandbox and it was not sold to anyone else. If you would like to book the tour again for the next day there is no problem, but you will have to pay again.
